Downtown Campaign

Allieway was approached by the City of Rome, NY to assist with numerous efforts to help get the downtown area back on its feet by creating a campaign that communicated the vision for a revitalized downtown area. When Allieway came aboard, the once bustling downtown city center was full of empty store fronts and desolate sidewalks. After taking on the project, Allieway worked for over a year to help the City breathe life back into its streets by attracting new business downtown, reinvigorating the once lively center of Rome. Our work with the City and key stakeholders kicked off an enormous revitalization effort, one that we are proud to say is truly taking shape. Our work for Rome included creating a campaign to bring business downtown, drive tourism for the City, and entice families to move to the area. As a result, almost every store front and office on the main artery of downtown is filled, parking needs have increased, and the City plans to bring back some previously popular summer music entertainment on the downtown lawn. Our most recent effort within this campaign has been to bring residents downtown for shopping and recreation. We are particularly proud of this effort because it showcases the new and improved downtown area. Our goal was to create a campaign to drive residents downtown, as many of them were unaware of all the changes to the downtown area. Understanding that the demographic is aging, we opted to bring nostalgia into the campaign by creating a “Wish You Were Here” concept that speaks to not just older generations, but younger residents as well. The postcards were sent to all residents and designed as keepsakes – little mementos that remind residents of the past and bring an exciting future.

This was BOA (Brownfield Opportunity Area) project and all marketing items aid in the revitalization and redevelopment of the area.
